In oncological surgery, surgeries can be performed for preventive, diagnostic, staging, palliative (temporary solution), tumor reduction and reconstructive (for ensuring tissue integrity) as well as treatment.

What are the diagnostic methods?

Multidisciplinary oncology council consisting of medical oncologist, oncologist surgeon, pathologist, radiologist, radiation oncologist, gastroenterologist and interventional radiologist after determining the type and stage of the disease through methods such as computed tomography (CT) scan, bone scintigraphy, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), positron emission tomography (PET) scan, ultrasound and X-ray, digestive system endoscopic examination used in the diagnosis of cancer diseases.  according to the decision of the most appropriate treatment for the patient. The age and physical suitability of the patient are also decisive factors. If the patient is suitable for surgery, surgery is performed with the right time and the right technique.

What are the treatment methods?

Surgical treatment approach and technique are determined according to the type of cancer. In some patients, minimally invasive surgery, laparoscopic surgery (closed surgeries) techniques are suitable for use, while in some patients and tumors, treatment is planned with classical open surgical technique.
