  • Rhinoplasty operations can be performed under local anesthesia as well as general anesthesia. However, general anesthesia is recommended for the comfort of both the patient and the surgeon. During the surgery, different processes are performed on the bone and cartilage and shaping is performed. Within the scope of this shaping, operations such as enlargement or reduction are also performed.
  • Rhinoplasty operations are performed in two ways as open and closed method. In open rhinoplasty surgery, the nostrils are opened with a small incision at the bottom. Due to the wide view angle, open rhinoplasty surgery is performed especially in people with advanced deformation. Closed rhinoplasty is performed through the nostrils without incision. Although it provides the surgeon with less angle of view, the operation is performed comfortably owing to the micro-cameras that allow the observation of the intranasal part. The advantage over open rhinoplasty is that there is no possibility of incision, and the recovery time is shorter. The type of surgery is decided by the surgeon.
  • How long does the surgery take?
  • The duration of the operation depends on the procedure to be performed. It takes 30 minutes as the minimum and the 2.5 hours as a maximum. The time may be longer for complicated surgeries. The patient is usually hospitalized overnight for follow-up purposes, unless there is a complication.
