  • What is the vaginoplasty?
  • Vaginoplasty is a surgery based on the process of renewing the vagina. It is aimed to return the sexual life of the woman to normal with the surgery in which the canal is narrowed and the tissues are compressed. 


  • To whom this surgery is performed?
  • The vagina of women who have a large number of normal births or large babies’ ruptures and enlarges during birth. This situation negatively affects the sexual life of the woman. Vaginoplasty is an operation applied to women suffering from this problem.


  • How is vaginoplasty performed?
  • The operation is performed under general or local anesthesia. There is no need for an abdominal incision for surgery, it is performed through the vaginal entrance. During the operation, some of the tissues inside the vagina are removed and the entrance is narrowed by 3-4 centimeters and stitches are made. Since the enlargement in the vagina is different in each woman, the surgery is planned according to the patient's condition.


  • What should be considered before vaginoplasty surgery?
  • - Inform your physician about the medications you use.
  • - In case of cold and flu felt just before the surgery, you are requested to inform your doctor.
  • - Blood tests should not be delayed until the last days before surgery to be done.
  • - If you are using blood thinners, take a break one week before the procedure.
  • - If you smoke, stop smoking at least two weeks before the procedure.
  • - Patient should be fasten six hours before the procedure. A least amount of water can be consumed. 


  • How long does vaginoplasty surgery take?
  • Vaginoplasty, which is a very simple operation, is completed in a maximum of one hour.


  • What awaits me after the procedure?
  • There is no need to remove stitches in Vaginoplasty surgery. The suture inserted into the vagina dissolves over time. The patient is discharged on the same day.
  • Is it a painful surgery?
  • Since the surgery is performed under anesthesia, no pain is felt. You may feel mild pain for a few days after the operation. Pain is kept under control with medication.


  • When is the best time for surgery?
  • It can be done in all seasons. However, spring and winter months are more suitable as it is not necessary to enter the sea and pool for a while after the operation.


  • What should be paid attention in postoperative period?
  • - Prescribed medication should be regularly and carefully used.
  • - Cleanliness of your genital area should be taken in care, and the related recommendations given by the physician should be carefully followed.
  • - Dressing should not be neglected.
  • - Swimming in pool, sea and sauna should be prohibited for at least 3hours.
  • - Sexual relationship should be avoided for six weeks.
  • - Heavy things should not be lifted for two weeks.


  • When can I go back to normal life?
  • You can return to your normal work life a few days after the operation. After a month, the vagina area gets its normal state, and you can have sexual relationship after about 45 days.


  • Will there be scars after the operation?
  • Since the stitches are inserted into the vagina, it is not possible to leave any scars.
